A life of prayer changes things.

If life were like a marathon, the last would be the best, both exhilarating and exhausting, having run so far.

The end of the race is ahead of you, the tape that marks the finish line.

We’ve had nursing homes ministries in the past. We’ve always been encouraged by the prayer there. This is the last few hundred yards, the finish-line prayer.

Prayer works and these folks can look back and pray mightily. It is a faith thing after all. And with most of their lives behind them, faith grows stronger.

Praying with and encouraging folks in their later years to pray is as rewarding as it gets.

Being with these life marathoners is one of the Lord’s marvels.

Luke 11:1 “Lord, teach us to pray…”
