SPENDING TIME WITH A LOVING GOD

One of life’s biggest issues is wanting to feel like part of a special group. At a recent gathering, we were among our extended family’s teenagers. We could see teenage cousins meeting each other, some for the first time, with both joy and anxiety. Over the weekend, we watched as connections were made and bonds were formed.

Approaching the living God can feel a lot likethis kind of experience. We come to God in prayer, read His word, and talk with other believers. These things can be so very rewarding. Sometimes, though, these same activities can produce feelings of uncertainty.

In actuality, that’s realistic as we approach our awesome Lord-of-Lords.
The thing we can always remember is this: “God Is love”.

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath for us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” [1 John 4:16]

It is wonderfully reassuring to be in the presence of the loving Lord who cares for us. To know we’re cared for, to know we are cherished and loved. We need only remember that God is love. We need only to choose Him.
