THE MAJESTY OF THE MAKER’S CREATION

Just being in God’s creation can be a wonderful experience. We live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and we took some time today to be in those mountains. There is a majesty there that can only be described as truly remarkable. The strength, complexity and wonder of God’s creation can be found almost anywhere. Today it was in those wild flowers high in the mountains.

Psalm 121 reads:
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills-
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD ,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

We felt the presents the ‘Maker of Heaven and Earth’ as the Psalmist calls Him. In the past we’ve experienced His presence in the quiet of a snowfall, in the far reaching planes of the mid-west, in the deserts of New Mexico. We’ve felt His presence on the beaches of our great country and on the waters.

In Psalm 29 you’ll find:
1 Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders: the LORD is upon many waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

There is no question that God’s in charge. We hear his voice and we know that He is in charge of His creation and of our lives. Feeling God’s awesome power through his creation and contrasting that with His grace in sending his Son. Well, that’s simply remarkable-beyond words.
